HSC Alert — Notification Methods

To learn what you should do in case of an emergency at Texas A&M Health, visit emergency.health.tamu.edu. In an actual emergency, Texas A&M Health will post additional emergency updates and announcements at emergency.health.tamu.edu when they become available. Texas A&M Health will also communicate important emergency information with local television and radio outlets.

Text Message

Text messaging is a faster notification method than email, so we encourage campus members to register for text message alerts. Texas A&M Health students, faculty and staff who have a Texas A&M NetID and password can register one number to receive SMS text message alerts. You must sign up to receive text message alerts.

Texas A&M Email

HSC Alert emergency alerts will automatically be sent to all Texas A&M Health Gmail accounts ending with "@email.tamu.edu" and Texas A&M Health Exchange email addresses. Recent tests indicate text messaging is a faster notification method than email, so we encourage campus members to register for text message alerts and Texas A&M Exchange accounts managed by Texas A&M Technology Services.

Computer Alerts

Texas A&M University students, faculty and staff can receive HSC Alert computer alerts by installing the Desktop Notifier on personal computers or laptops. The alerts will be received on computers connected to the internet. The Desktop Notifier is enabled on classroom computers and computers managed by the Open Access Labs. Contact your Technology Services support staff to see whether you have the Desktop Notifier installed on your university-owned computer. Download Computer Alerts.

Mobile App for Android and iOS devices

Anyone with an Android or iOS device can download the free HSC Alert Mobile App to receive alerts and access additional safety features and campus-emergency information. The HSC Alert App requires a data connection in order to receive push notifications. View all HSC Alert App features.
