RELLIS Alert — Notification Methods

To learn what you should do in case of an emergency at RELLIS, visit https://rellis.tamus.edu/emergencyprocedures. In an actual emergency, RELLIS will post additional emergency updates and announcements at https://rellis.tamus.edu/emergency when they become available. RELLIS will also communicate important emergency information with local television and radio outlets.

Text Message

Text messaging is a faster notification method than email, so we encourage everyone to register for text message alerts.

Anyone can register one number to receive SMS text message alerts, but you must sign up to receive the alerts as text messages. You can use your personal email address (and private password) to create an account and register. Click below to visit the registration portal:

Student and Employee Email

RELLIS Alert emergency alerts will be automatically sent to school and business email addresses of students and employees known to be located at RELLIS. Tests indicate text messaging is a faster notification method than email, so we encourage RELLIS campus members to register for text message alerts and install the RELLIS Alert mobile app.

Computer Alerts

Anyone can receive RELLIS Alert computer alerts by installing the Desktop Notifier on personal computers or laptops. The alerts will be received on computers connected to the internet. The Desktop Notifier is enabled on classroom computers and computers managed by RELLIS Information Technology. Contact your RELLIS IT support staff to see whether you have the Desktop Notifier installed on your RELLIS-managed computer. Download Computer Alerts.

Mobile App for Android and iOS devices

Anyone with an Android or iOS device can download the free RELLIS Alert Mobile App to receive alerts and access additional safety features and campus-emergency information. The RELLIS Alert App requires a data connection in order to receive push notifications. View all RELLIS Alert App features.
